Soviet Everyday Culture of the 1970s and Early 1980s: Shaping the Soviet Way of Life

Started in 2012, this project includes over 200 interviews. Its aim was to trace the roots of Soviet nostalgia in contemporary Ukrainian society. Respondents shared what the idea of a "good life" meant under Soviet conditions, which aspects of Soviet culture remain appealing today, and why. Interviewees primarily belong to the postwar generation.
